I drew the Pieta to get into advanced art class in high school, it was part of my path to knowing this is my passion! I have been asked to show 3 works in Italy but have been out of work for a year now and can not afford to show my paintings there. Does anyone know of funding for artist to exhibit or to do art with monetary support ?

What a masterpiece!
Art Video! What the hell is art video? Jesus! You people here in AZ can't put a moving picture together and make a movie! But you'll show a non moving image and call it art video! Give me a break! You ever heard the saying,...Nothing moves till something moves."? It's a law of nature. Of physics. It governs our universe. Now we have art video. An image that doesn't move,..so nothing moves!
You would think they would show the body of Christ in her arms,..but NO,...we can't even mention his name without everyone getting upset. To all of you mentioned here stick it ^& #$&^ !#@#!
It's too bad you can't see the front of this sculpture. It is absolutely breathtaking! Mary sits calmly with her dead son in her arms while an Archangel watches over them. It looks from here that she is sitting on the area were he was laid after the crucifixion. Try and make a masterpiece like this out of egg salad and bologna.

"Pieta" was influenced by Michaelangelo passion for Dante's "Divina Commediais" and it is an important sculpture artwork as it balances the Renaissance ideals of classical beauty with naturalism.
Thank you for sharing with others.
I do not think Michelangelo’s Pieta can ever be equaled. Michelangelo was 22 when he started this carving. In his contract for the commission it was boldly stated that it would be the most beautiful work in marble that Rome has ever seen.
It truly is the greatest and most beautiful work of art that mankind has ever seen.
One of the greatest works of art ever created. In less than 2 years, Michelangelo working alone carved this flawless work of art out of a solid block of marble using only the most basic of tools.

I think the photos and music are lovely. I find myself frustrated by the rate of fade between pics.
