Studio Lighting Basics

Two Bulbs Are Better Than One!

Whether working at a drafting table or at an easel, all artists need good studio lights, but many are unaware of the benefits of having multiple light sources. A single lamp vibrates, switching on and off very rapidly, forcing the muscles of the pupil to contract and relax to keep up, causing fatigue.

Adding a second light source allows the vibrations to cancel each other out, allowing the artist longer periods of comfort while working. For the painter, two Testrite Artist Lights are an excellent studio lighting solution; for the architect or designer, the Combination Lamp with both incandescent bulb and fluorescent tube is an excellent choice.
