Used to be along time ago...Version 6... I think...With the Intel macs you can run Bootcamp and Windows right on your Mac...That would solve your Corel Problem...Or, you could get a cheap Windows box to run it on...Although personally I HATE Corel, but to each his own...I run it on my Windows Laptop...

I've never really given Corel a chance. Now, in my new job, I need to know more about it. I actually like some of the drawing tools better than AI. Don't get me wrong I still love AI.

Good luck in your new gig!...Yeah, it's good to be at least familiar in all these programs, cause you never know when your gonna have to pull it out of your hat...(I need to crack open that Corel book myself)...

Honestly, having used both, I think Corel X3 kicks the bejeepers out of Illustrator.

I came from using CASmate and FlexiSign. I used Corel 8 only color my art and to use as a cut-n-paste bridge into PhotoPaint. I found Corel 8 to be cumbersome to get around although it was an improvement over Ver 5. I used Corel X3 at my last job and it proved to be a blessing.

I use AI at my part time gig. There are so many features that X3 has that AI doesn't or takes more steps to get to. It is good that I am garnering a working knowledge of it, though.

So, it is a case to each his own. I found X3 to be a very complete program.

Used Corel Draw years ago...but switched over to Painter...which is now owned by Corel. Much more freedom of expression for drawing and painting...and it comes as a Mac Frienly application.

and then I read the beginning of this thread...and yes it does come, or at least did in a version for Mac. I'm sure someone has an earlier version out there somewhere...but you better be sure your operating system is compatable...you probably know that...just a friendly reminder.

I've used Corel 11 on my powerbook.  The last shop I worked at was Corel based, but I had my own illustrator and photoshop.  I would have to break out "the big boys" for more complicated matters.  May have just needed a mac's touch...
