Alright -- this seemed to be going pretty well in the "My Dream Studio" group, so I figured I'd transplant it here.  This is the 3rd installment of SketchSchool, it goes like this:  I post an image, you take it as your subject and do some cool stuff with it.  Keep it loose and flowing, don't toil over it.  They should be quick sketches, recreate the pose but add some of your own flair to it and then post it up right back here for us to see!  I know everyone's pretty busy, but I keep a pretty good span of time between assignments so you should all be able to contribute.  Liek I said -- quick sketches, keep the pose, do something fun, help break the rut and get some practice time in.

Here's your subject (I'd give credit to the photographer but they were not mentioned)...  NOW GO!  SKETCHY SKETCHY!!  POST POST!!

Actually caught a few free minutes yesterday (gotta love conference calls that have NOTHING to do with you ...*roll eyes*)

So here's mine:

Once again, I find myself doing this again. I can't help but love a new reason to get the juices flowing. Especially, when you are allowed to share your imagination with other artists. I love this stuff.

This is a good idea, hope no one minds my photoshop stuff, as I can't draw with a hill of beans, well not that's not quite true, I just prefer photography, gotta go with your strong suit as they say...

Nice stuff guys!  Glad you're participating... hopefully we get a few more contributors too!  Hey Reg -- This isn't a "show off what you can do" string, its more like an "exercise your imagination and your eyes" kind of drill.  So even if you can't draw worth a hill of beans, try sketching the next one out anyway.  Its' just practice time, even if its scribble it still helps build hand-eye coordination and makes you see things you might not have before.  That's why I try to find particularly unusual, non-"academic" poses.  Doing even crappy drawings of these things will actually help you when doing the stuff you usually do.

I'll have to admit your "sexy legs" avatar was a source of inspiration for me dear Anjela.

I love how you can take a single image, distribute it across a wide group of artists, and come up with some very impressive, and very different styles. It's always nice to see ink and markers, next to pencil and charcoal. I love the different mediums. Everybody keep up the good work, and maybe next time, we can have more than four people do this.

Great work guys!!  I love seeing everyone's contributions...watching your imagination come out on paper when we already know what the reference was.  Inspiring stuff!  I'll be posting the next assignment later today, so keep an eye out!

Sorry I don't know how to copy the photo..I thought I was to hit keys option, shift and 4 but I can't get a copy. Now If I could I would put money ( dollar bills) in his lower hand as he grabs a gal by the hair in the other hand..her mouth would be open.

Not bad!  :)  Shiela -- I'm a big fan of smudgy shading, nice work!  I'd like to see you try the pose too!  I know, I know... its hard to find the time...

By the way -- I'll post mine later tonight........I've been outrageously busy, but I know I'm preaching to the choir on that level!  LOL!  I'll catch up with you all tonight!

LMAO @ the "YO Adrianne" comment!!  I didn't catch that the first time! HAHAHA!!

OK -- Session 5 is coming down the pipe and since we've got some practice in here with the first 4, I would really like to encourage everyone to give feedback and constructive criticism on this next piece.  I still want you do work quickly and keep it loose, this will really help you to identify your strengths and weeknesses while allowing your mind to focus more on the creative aspect of the work instead of getting hung-up in facial features and the like.  Also, see if you can encourage 1 or 2 of your friends to participate this round as well.  I love seeing what you guys come up with, and more participation would make it even better!

I'll post the new assignment later today!

Thanks for the suggestions on posting to the topic. I didn't stretch too far with the sketch. It was fun to practice.
