Posted about 1 year ago Figured I'd throw this out there... I'm working on putting up a portfolio website, in lieu of the current PDF I have of my portfolio. The big thing I'm confused about though is what kind of layout my site should have. Obviously, frames/iframes are out of the question, but I see a varied number of portfolio sites run between "blog-style", "slice style" (a compact menu with images appearing underneath it, no scrolling), and straight-up Flash. My main question here is, where do I find a BLOG template to use if I want to throw all this RSS stuff in? I see all these blog-style portfolios around and while LiveJournal and such are handy, I'd like to have my own site. Any help would be much appreciated. |

| Posted about 1 year ago Hi Adam, Give these two a try:
http://blogger-templates.blogspot.com/
http://www.templatemonster.com/
I especially like to use TemplateMonster. In fact I've used this for some of my web design clients who want a quick website up and running. I'll have them send me their logos and images and copy, and then it takes just 2-3 days to complete. Good luck!

| Posted about 1 year ago If you use iweb, everything is in there template-wise. It is not flash, but you can put in blogs, movies, podcasts... works with usual apple efficiency for folks like me... click, drag, done! Each day is a gift, open it up and play with it! |

| Posted about 1 year ago The Ask.com search engine is a good place to start if your seeking general knowlege about almost any subject. If you're looking for a good web host, I've been hearing a lot of good things about bluehost.com There are many opensource HTML editors available for free download at sourceforge.net Also, I have many links concerning CSS and web design in general listed at my online study journal. |

| Posted 10 months ago Are just a couple of places where I have my portfolio up. It's pretty easy to send potential clients to your gallery link and there is a community of artists to look at for inspiration and feedback. |

| Posted 10 months ago I have to redo both of these sites but I'll put them up as they are now... I'm a freelance Web Designer and Video Editor and I hope to be making a transition into illustration as time permits. |

| Posted 10 months ago If you have some html ability and Javascript ability, I found a great Javascript that I really like for displaying portfolios. it is called Galleria (http://devkick.com/lab/galleria/) place it in your webpage and put your links in as an unordered list. Allows you to click through from one image to another... I was able to edit it for my own uses, but it still has a real nice presentation if you just use it "as is" You can see how I used it on my site www.russkern.com. R One note... and this is just personal opinion... Keep the portfolio you put online simple, Don't use a flashy page design that detracts from your work, afterall thats what you want people to react to. Most traveling books are presented in a black case and on Black board. It showcases the work best that way. I think your website should too.

| Posted 9 months ago It's not free but it has everything you need at various cost structures and will hold your hand and get you registered if you need it. Has flash or HTML or flash with optional HTML coding ability... pretty easy to use and very easy to adjust and redesign. :)
Each day is a gift, open it up and play with it! |
