Well, according to IMDB, you can call him Marvin Lee Aday...If I remember right, he was given the nickname Meat Loaf by his high school football coach. He (along with too old to rock RJD) was  the best part of the otherwise dismal and mostly forgettable Pick of Destiny...

He got that name from his dad because he was a chubby little boy. His dad use to call him that. His dad was verbally abusive and I think a drunk. He loved his mom but she died of cancer at an early age. He had a sad childhood.

Darn, he had a sad Childhood & it does sound like his dad was a drunk. Now at 62, that name stuck with him & made a lot of money. BTW, I know what it means to loose your Mother at a young age cause I lost mine early in my life per say. Thanks for commenting...............
