Is God Dead in Art?  Besides Veggie Tales and Passion of Christ, where is God in our contemporary art forms? Sure we have plenty of pieces of art that criticizes religion or questions our concept of Christ, but where is art that pushes the creativity bounds in order to praise God. There is still believers in God that have the need to worship God visually in new ways instead of the reused images of God that been around for hundreds of years.

The last time I saw a modern day religious painting I was offended because it depicted George W. Bush as Christ with an oil slick (reference to the war in Iraq). People have gotten away from God. It is sad and just because of this comment I think that I am going to try to do something new on this subject. I will let you know when it is done.

I paint many paintings about God, alot of them dealing with my relationship with  God.  It just seems to me that when it comes to worshipping God, Believers ( not trying to exclude any religion, however I feel that the main religion that is not doing  enough to push the grounds of art in the name of God is Christians.) are just not doing enough original art.  We cannot not blame the mainstream art community for this.  IT is the fault of the Christian Community for abandon the way of worshipping God.  We need to more with our art.
