Last month Colleges and Universities throughout the country passed out Diplomas to thousands of bright eyed young men and women smiling from ear to ear. Unfortunately, there weren’t very many jobs or careers to be passed out this year along with them. Many students decided to stay in school and continue their studies in the hopes that the economy, and the job market, will improve in a year or so. Some have undoubtedly filed for unemployment benefits, while others have gone home to live and maybe get a part time job.

Two young men have taken matters into their own hands and have taken their knowledge, skills and artistic talents on the road. Their idea to drift from city to city, state to state, designing their way across America has become a reality. They have created a unique forum for designers everywhere to interact and collaborate. Their goal is to bring them all closure together and to share in an online conference of creativity and design. Join in at www.DriftingCreatives.com

Along the way they are reaching out to small businesses to offer their creative design work for as little as the cost of fuel, food, or a futon. Their simple goal is to help small businesses compete in this tough economy in exchange for the resources they need to continue their journey. They have designed menus for small restaurants, logos for a bank, t-shirts, posters and web sites. It’s a win, win for everyone.

To date they have nearly 1000 people following them on twitter and/or their web site. They have interviewed several CEOs at design firms in St. Louis, Mo., and in Omaha, Nebraska, and they themselves have been interviewed live on the radio. They are currently on their way to Cincinnati, Ohio, where they hope to attend the “In Control Conference” presented by the AIGA..

Thanks to good people like those at Infuz and Atomic Dust in St. Louis, Mo.,  DownsDesign and Rdqlus Creative in Omaha, Ne., LaCasaRosa in Texarkana, Henderson Bank in Henderson, Tx, and Desired Hearts

… DRIFTING CREATIVE’S  has gotten off to a fantastic start.

My very personal thanks and gratitude goes out to all those who have taken the time and effort to reach out to these young men and help them make this a reality. Thank you so much for your hospitality and generosity.

I dunno...sounds like a logo factory to me. I don't like logo factories. I really, really dislike them. Why? Because they devalue professional graphic artists by stealing potential clients and selling inferior product, which has damaged the entire industry.
