Posted 8 months ago I don't see work in your albums, I would prefer to comment there. Off hand at 16 I would suggest making sure your drawing skills keep up with your computer skills. These look like strong images, did you create them from scratch? I like the integration of type with the last image. It seems the most original. I like the upside down figure. There are groups, topics, and other great artists that can probably give you specific help. I noticed your first post was to create a new topic.

Posted 8 months ago Okay, you think the Wacom Bamboo is a good tablet to get?

Posted 8 months ago I have used wacom tablets for a while. But also like putting ideas on paper. I guess I'm old school. The last one I got was a couple of years ago, so I know I am behind the times. Its a good tool. Perhaps you or others can bring me up to speed.

Posted 7 months ago I'm personally a fan of the Wacom Intuos. The surface just seems to have a better glide on the pen. As far as tutorials, just type photoshop tutorials on google and go crazy. Also, seeing that you make forum sigs, there are plenty of forum sites that offer a community of very talented artists. http://www.guildinn.com is a good example of one. Gfx school is also another good one. They give resources and tutorials. If you need any help on those forums, I go by .modern. Hope that helps. ^^

Posted 6 months ago Hey nice work for 16! As brokencolor mentioned, keeping your traditional skills is equally important, learning the process of how the designs that inspire you are created is more important and will be much more valuable than cutting and pasting. There is no way to teach photoshop but there must be an understanding, like a hammer, pencil or saw, PS is a tool and it must be abused in order to learn it. As for glossiness its all about light... pick a direction and use gradients and accents with the dodge tool at certain points where lights are intensified... try duplicating and gaussian blurring, using blending options such as overlay and screen to creat that smooth hazy effect if desired (play with inversion as well with the blending options < the quick commands to invert layers are Ctrl + I >). If you need help you should hit me up. great stuff and keep up the good work.

This guy really knows what he is talking about. If I were you, I would take advantage of his generosity with his knowledge. He is always helping other artists here, and has the credentials to do so. Take a gander at his work. He is a Master draftsman!! |

Posted 5 months ago I really like your style. As for tutorials, I like www.lynda.com. They are the best that I've found for learning the basics.
