    1st review

A manual, film based camera with automatic shutter and exposure settings, working independently or together: e.g., aperture priority / shutter priority.

I grew up on the canon ae-1. I don't call myself a photographer, but sometimes with newer automatic cameras the automation ruins what you already knew...er...gets in the way. It's way heavy man.

Its one of the best cameras to use. Very robust. I use the manual settings the most, they allow me to manipulate each scene. Artfully Yours, Pacco J Pompei.

I learned photography on this camera, and still prefer it to my digital for authentic looking black and whites.

This was my first slr and it may just be my last. I've done more with this camera than anything I've ever owned. I just had the body cleaned, new light seals, etc and the quality of the film I get is wonderful. I have a very nice digital and like it a lot, but when I really whant to go out and shoot I take my AE1 with me.

First camera I ever owned--bought it when I was a sophomore in high school and I've had it ever since. It's traveled everywhere with me. And I've captured lots of memorable moments with it.

I love this camera...my father swore by it...and so do I now that it is mine.

I chose the AE-1 over any other camera to-date. I see a picture that can be taken and, like a hunting dog, my AE-1 finds what I see and snap. Digital has its perks, but the AE-1 will reign supreme!

Pps - Oh, and you don't have to worry about running out of batteries. I've had the same for the last ten years.
