One reason I wish I still had a mac, this software is great for cutting and splicing video clips and just working with video altogether.

The real reason this is a great product is the increased power of motion and the addition of color. Both of these tools are great and enhance the already powerful editing of final cut. Though there are some issues nothing that should keep you from getting this product to further any editing career.

Best video editing system out there. Still a few kinks I found like sometimes not saving all changes made on the desktop. In DVD studo I often have to refresh the menu icons. Nothing major though

One of the best editing Softwares out. I use this EVERYDAY. And one I dont have to use it I open it up anyway. ITs very easy once you know the basics. Dont be scared of it. It will make everything you edit look 20 times better. A plus with adobe after effects and photoshop.

Final Cut Pro: In my opinion, more solidly built than the current Software Media Composer. Great tools at the price with some fantastic professional features.
STILL NEEDS: Better trim mode (Christ on a crutch, just mimic Avid's! Why does iMovie 09 have a better trim mode than FCP6?!) . Ability to change interface colors, easier methods of exchanging bins, and media tracking tools.DVD Studio Pro: Rocks my world.
Motion 3: I use after effects.
LiveType: Pointless application, Apple, please kill it.
Soundtrack: Not quite pro tools, but wow the latest version blew me away...- Flag as inappropriate

I have been using various Final Cut Pro software packages for around five years. It can be a little tough to get into at first if you've never worked with time line based software before, but once you get used to it, Final Cut Pro is a very powerful tool. It is pricey, so if you're looking for a simpler solution without all the bells and whistles, Final Cut Express may have everything you need. I have several friends who have been happy with that. If you simply want to string footage together, iMovie might be an even easier solution.
