| Description: | In addition to the FX format (Full-frame) D3 Nikon has also announced the new DX format D300 which also features a 12 megapixel CMOS sensor, 14-bit A/D conversion, EXPEED image processor, sensitivity up to ISO 6400 (with boost), the new CAM3500DX AF sensor (51 point), HDMI video output, UDMA CF support and last but not least the super-impressive 3.0" 922,000 pixel LCD monitor with Live View. No ordinary Live View either as this one supports Auto Focus in two ways; using the current 'normal' mirror-drop / mirror-raise but also contrast detect in the same way as a compact camera (although slower). The D300 will be available in November, at around US$1800. |

Two main selling points for the d300:
High-Defintion 267 PPI 3" LCD and Scene Recognition System with 3D AF. One other thing I'm looking forward to... the Ultrasonic Sensor Cleaner... I hate cleaning my sensor, this should be a welcome addition.

I love this camera it very fast compared to my older camera. Duh it a compact digital camera Canon. Anyways it screen is 3.0" so it very to see and with Live View even though I don't use it is very handy. This is my first real camera for school and I will have lots of practice with it.

Admittedly, I'm a brand shopper, and have stuck mostly to Canon products, though this Nikon is absolutely phenomenal for either trained photographers or self-taught. I've had the pleasure of using it for a few weddings, and have been very satisfied with my results! Definitely worth the purchase!

I have 2 D300's and love the quality and user-friendliness that Nikon offers. Truly great higher ISO clarity as well especially for evening events such as weddings; I have never been disappointed.

If you're trying to get serious about photography, and you can't decide on a camera... You could do a lot worse than picking up one of these bad boys. Fast camera and external functions are easy to get to on the fly. I love this camera. It's a monster!

As always Nikon built another work horse of a camera. Easy to use once you are familiar with the camera. Love the controls.
