I have been working with it for the last 2 years, and I'm satisfied with the way it works. No problems encountered. But I would definitely not recommend this camera to a photographer with large hands because of the very compact body

I actually own the Canon Rebel, not the XT, which is older. But I've not had any problems with the image quality. It's not the camera, it's the way you use it that determines how good a photograph is.

This is my first SLR and it's been a great camera for the price. For beginners, like myself, or for a back up camera, this is great to carry around. It has produced great pics for me. I did change the lens, just because I wanted a little more from a lens. But all in all, its a very, very good camera.

Great camera for the price, Canon makes a very good camera. For those that don't have over a grand laying around, this is definitely a good buy. Easy to use features and easily upgraded with accessories.

This is the PERFECT camera for the amateur or entry level photography. All the buttons, menus, and options are easy to find and easy to read. Great if you are just learining the basics of photography or want to have the creative capabilities of the more advanced dslr's. Also really nice to have if you are switching from film to digital and you have several EOS lenses.

I've been using the Rebel XT for about the last 3 years, and have had no major problems. It's approaching 10,000 shots and hasn't skipped a beat. It is, however, quite small for large hands and is a little loud. I really have no complaints, but I'm wanting to get the new Mark III!

This is my first digital camera (up to this point I had used a 35mm). I have had it for a year. I use it mainly for reference and taking pictures of my paintings. I'm a little behind on manipulating and using my computer with with it. Still figuring out raw.

Just picked up one today for $399 at Roberts Camera in Indianapolis. I have a Canon Rebel 35mm film and wanted to add a digital SLR to my inventory. I have only taken 20-30 photos so far, but found it easy to use and picture quality very good. I'll update my review when I've got a little more time with it. Saw the add for $399, couldn't resist. It came with a 28-90mm lens. I have a 85-300mm from my other Rebel which I will be able to use. There will be some "cropping" effect due to the difference of 35mm vs the digital ( I think it's ~25-28mm?), which I didn't think would have much of an impact on my photos.

I bought a Rebel about a year and a half ago for 800$. Little pissed it is 200 cheaper now. But the camera takes wonderful outdoor daytime photos. If the camera is gonna be used at night, I recommend an extra flash. Especially since I have never dropped my camera and for some reason or another, my flash stopped automatically popping up. Now I have to manually raise it. Don't know if it's a defect or what, but I had it a year before that happened.

That's a very good camera , the compact body, the interchangeable lens with any other canon cameras, the output is great and easy to understand. It makes a great companion to go anywhere, light weight. The rest is up to the eye of the beholder

Having previously owned the Digital EOS Rebel I find the Rebel XT a superior camera in features and image output. I have been using this camera professionally for a few months now and have had no trouble with it at all. People keep asking me if I will upgrade to a 'more professional model', but with decent lenses (wide-angle is a must for journalism in tight places) this camera does very well in all situations from travel, sport, press and happy snapping. Adding a Speedlight flash is an important piece of kit, also. Some of the other UK journalists look down at this American immigrant, but considering that I paid much less than the UKs 350D version I chuckle to myself and let them feel good about paying more for basically the same camera.

it's a good camera, but not as good as my Minolta 9000

I started using this camera for a college class. It's a good camera to learn the ropes with, and it's getting to be a relatively cheap buy, too.

I love my camera! I have great professional photographs every time and the camera is easy to use, lightweight, great performance, and affordable.

This is a great first camera for the beginner, Low price and good quality with lots of features including being able to shoot in Camera Raw format.

First Digital. Gives you enough bells and whistles for an amature, but it gives enough simplicity for a beginner

A very good entry level dslr. It is a good camera to learn basic concepts in photography without spending a lot lof money. It has been a good starter camera for me. It is a bit grainy at 1600, and I would have liked it to be better in lower indoor lighting situations. However, this could be helped with purchase of a better lens
