While having only MSPaint and various earlier versions of MSPaint for awhile I was able to learn the tricks to making MsPaint work for you instead of it giving you headaches. While my rating is low, I'm also taking in mind that I appreciate the newer products of today. MSPaint is a great program for pixel by pixel works. The art is so detailed because of the pixel by pixel precision.

MSPaint has always been one of my favorites, probably due to the fact that it's free and I couldn't afford any other programs for a while. It is good for creating small web based images and graphics, as well as simple layout images. Also good for dolling and any other pixel based art. For more advanced work, other programs are requied, but if you want to do something small and easy, this is a good program to use.

THIS IS ONE PRODUCT THAT TELLS YOU: FREE IS NOT NECESARILY BAD, IT IS ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD SPECIALLY TO CREATE IN BLACK AND WHITE....

Programs like MSPaint can be used to create amazing artwork which is at least amazing because the tools are quite basic and limited compared to the tool your average pro or prosumer can be expected to use.

They are also amazing because having such a small box causes the artist to think outside of it pretty much all of the time, and the results show real skill and creativity.

There are a line of videos on YouTube in which MSPaint art wizards go to town. copy and paste this URL into your address bar:

    http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=mspaint&search_type=

and you'll see what I mean. Then, for a laugh, load and watch this parody of product puffery:

MSPaint can actually be a pretty cool tool.

I use MSPaint solely for all of my pixel work. It is what I got started using, and I use it to this day. Very easy, albeit tedious to use. This shows that free does not equal bad.

I would give more stars, but this is where I stated and I know so much more now. I learned this back in 8th grade. It was cool then though.

A tool from the Halcyon days of olde, MSpaint has become the butt of jokes over the past decade. It's (still) extremely limited tools has become a selling point; a masterpiece in MSPaint has become a stunt, like the Mona Lisa in ketchup, or in packing tape.

It's a great tool for stuff like this, but similar pieces can be done in practically any modern digital painting program, or even simply as lines of code in HTML. This is the last tool you'll seriously want to use for any image.

Yes, great work can be made out of it; but why would you want to?
