I bought my very first computer in January 2007 and had decided on a Mac computer since Macs are known for outstanding graphics features that are useful for photographers and artists. The beauty of Mac computers is that they have no "towers"...everything is built into the monitor itself, and that includes being able to playback and/or burn DVD/CDs. One can even create movies, slideshows on this computer.
Since this is the "old" Tiger version, it predates the newer "Leopard" version that only came out a little while ago
Another great thing about Mac computers...while they are out there, Mac computers are less likely to be affected by viruses
The downside ....The Mac word processing system, which is Text Edit and Pages, does not match Microsoft Word...for that one has to download/buy a Mac compatible version of Office Word--also Macs browser is Safari, which also has limitations and often one can't open up certain websites with it...A recommendation is to download the free Firefox browser
If one is used to PCs which I learned on, it does take a bit of doing to get used to MACs...there is NO right clicking abilities..one has to compensate and know which key and left click for certain functions...even the keyboard it a bit different.
But all in all, I recommend a MAC computer hands down over PCs anyday!

I have been using Apple Macs since 1995 when I bought a Power Mac. In 2004 I bought a G4 and have never had any trouble with it. I still can't believe how reliable it is and will recommend it without question. Incomparable in use and ease to operate.

I bought my first mac back in July 2006. Until then I was a very frustrated Windows user/sufferer. Once you go mac, you never go back. No crashes, no viruses, worms, or trojans. Great interface and visually pleasing.

I started out on a PC and our whole family has made the switch. Currently our family owns 5 Macs and their products are more reliable than any other computer out there. With 2 graphic designers in the family including myself, Macs run Adobe Creative Suite with ease and great speed. With the new operating system Leopard, the "Spaces" application allows me to easily flow from one program to another in different windows and makes design work a breeze as well as keeping a neat and tidy work space. ONCE YOU GO MAC, YOULL NEVER GO BACK!

Apple takes care of business. They are constantly updating software and they are always correcting shortcomings and improving their product. This has been my experience since I've owned my MAC. As computers go, it's a great product.

I have never used any other computer and have updated a few times. It is a great addition to my art studio.

A little slow to learn at first, but once you know how to use it, boy, does it ever do things faster and better than the Windows machines! Great interface, great graphics and I can drag and drop my photos straight into iPhoto. Great machine.

MACs vs. PCs? No competition ... Having worked on both, I would recommend a MAC to any and everyone. Easy to navigate, great tools and it just looks COOL!
