very entertaining. great exercise for the eyes. although, it is difficult to tell due to the poor resolution on the screen. some of them were beginning to look like a captcha, lol. j/k.

I've been retired for too many years to remember the old fonts and am not familiar with the newer ones.

Oh my goodness! This shows that i have more potential than i give myself credit for. I just took it for the fun of it but got all right. I spent most of my career in administration but i guess i was learning fonts unknowingly.

Wow, the only reason I knew those answers is because I am a writer too! Funny how those things coincide.

Was not certain on the helvetica vs. arial as the image was not sharp nor enlargeable. But if the "t" had a diagonal slice off its ascender, it would be arial. Arial was a cheap knockoff of the helvetica family. Readability is a strong point, the ease of the eyes to readily see and absorb the textual info. For résumés, a goudy or garamond reads so much more efficiently than times, or bookman, or god forbid, helvetica.

oh goodness! that's something i've never thought about before! whether i know the name of a font or not. i definitely think that certain fonts carry a specific emotion and can completely set the mood for whatever job they're being used for. i really should get to know the names of most of them. they deserve to be known. :)

I'm old school as I can remember setting type from lead into a block that you held in your hand. Our school used the type in a press that is still used today. I could remember some but I need to study more.....

If the face fits the job, use it. The mark of a good typeface is that it can be used well in a number of jobs.
