Animals Run Wild in Chelsea

Eric Fischl: "Ten Breaths", Mary Boone Gallery

Eric Fischl: “Ten Breaths”

Mary Boone Gallery

Full of energy and stillness at once, Fischl’s dancers make a dramatic impact. The lighting has a lot to do with it though. It is lit as a stage rather than a gallery, which makes it an installation. Yet the pieces are decidedly sculptural. This piece was exciting to enter upon, but left me confused.

Thanx for the show Valerie.......The piece that really effects me and i caint get enough is Joan Mitchells work, it brings back the best of the New York art scene of the 50's and 60's. U hit the nail on the head with this pic!

Thanks for the walkthrough! I don't get to NY, so it's great to see some samples although it's always better in person.

Glad you had, or are having, a nice trip to town. I can highly recommend Nathalie Djurberg's show to anyone having trouble keeping on a diet during the holidays. It's a super appetite suppressant.
