I’m creating a visual language that explores the artifacts of self-determination, free agency, and self-fullfilling prophesy as it relates to my own experience. Growing up Mormon, it was instilled that the second best thing to aspire to if not called to be a prophet of god would be a career in the NBA. Last year I was in three fantasy basketball leagues. Some of the objects I create to become part of the canon of apocrypha surrounding contemporary American religion, others to distill nostalgia for abandoned belief and magical thought.
