“Nets, Red and Blue

What is it that you enjoy so much about the art profession? I like the challenge of having an idea or story and figuring out how to translate that into a visual medium. I enjoy working with my hands to create something beautiful and hopefully help people to see in a different way.


Did you have an “aha moment” when you knew you had to be an artist? If not, how did you know art was your calling? There was no “moment” that I can recall. I was always drawing and making things since early childhood. I remember when they began teaching art in my grammar school. I was in 5th or 6th grade. The new art teacher, Mrs. Petrillo, saw my potential and encouraged me. In high school we had a great art department, and my teacher, Miss Scanlon, was also a big influence. They both helped me to realize that pursuing life as an artist was possible.
