“There may not be a Heaven, but there is a San Francisco.”

Ashleigh Brilliant, English Author and Cartoonist

Meet John Kraft: John is a California man through and through. Born in Los Angeles in 1967, John has been inspired by the great state and it’s the setting for much of his famous artwork. His scenes of San Francisco have earned him the recognition as a Featured Artist by Apple, and his art has been included in Better Homes and Gardens, The Artful Home and Modern Painters. The San Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times and MacWorld UK, and Shelley Esaak of About.com have all profiled John as an artist to know.

John is also a participating artist in Heroes & Hearts 2010, which benefits the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation (SFGHF). The heart John designed was sponsored by the Stanley S. Langendorf Foundation and later purchased by San Francisco mayoral candidate Joanna Rees. Additionally John has also published a children’s book, The Little Lost Boat, and release of his third CD, Racing the Moon. John currently lives in the SF Bay Area with his wife, soprano Nikki Einfeld, and their daughters, Sienna and Kira.

What is your art/design profession? Multimedia Artist

What was your career path leading up to your current profession/title?

My original degrees are in engineering, but shortly after earning my degrees I realized I was more of an artist than an engineer. I’ve worked in advertising, interactive design and social media, but I’m most at home and fulfilled when creating art.
