About Me
Ever since I was young I have been fascinated with our visual world and the way that it works. I consistently participated in the arts all through high school honing my skills and seeing a future in art for me. These times allowed me to prepare for the challenges I face as an artist today. At the end of my high school career I received the award for “outstanding achievement in the arts”. After high school I studied under painter and computer artist, Steve Sherrell for three years at Joliet Junior College. Under Steve Sherrell's mentoring, I discovered new ways of producing original ideas in and out of the computer that transformed the way I work and view art. In 2002 I studied in Florence Italy at Santa Reparata International School of Art. I received my BFA in photography from Columbia College in 2006 with a concentration on Digital imaging and mixed media. My work involves the process of digitally constructing images in the computer and outputting to work in various drawings and other media. I use photographic lighting and color techniques to implement abstract organic and geometric ideas in the digital realm. The images challenge conventional graphics but pull the viewer into the work at the same time. At the end of the day, I am a dedicated creative professional who takes art very seriously. I have a strong ability to grasp new technological concepts in digital imaging with a bold understanding that unique design and creativity are paramount.
