About Me
I was born in NYC raised in Orangeburg, NY and have lived in Waterloo, SC for 8 years. My passion for the arts began at an early age and was nurtured and encouraged by both family and teachers. I pursued my passion for art, by receiving her BS degree from, Slippery Rock State University in Pennsylvania. This enabled me to pursue a career as an art educator for almost thirty years. This allowed me to inspire and nurture a love for the arts in my students. While my area of expertise is in sculpture, as a life long learner I recently discovered a passion for photography. As I have encouraged my students to explore different mediums I myself as a life long learner have diversified into the area of photography. In doing so I have met with success by having several of myr works published. My philosophy of art is: “Art reflects nature and nature is art.” I taught for almost 30 years and about 2 years ago my husband decided to go back into the mining business. After 9 months apart I retired from teaching and became the sole owner of our mining company. I taught art for many years and have a strong background in ceramic sculpture. Since the move I have taken up photography. The Wild Wonderful State is perfect for photography in any season. I am a native New Yorker(Stater) born and bred. Though my home is in South Carolina, I still refer to NY as home.
