About Me
I have found that a versatility in techniques and the ability to create in a variety of mediums has given me the opportunity to work on a multitude of projects. Though my formal education was limited, I probably learned more about painting and techniques while studying and copying important works by Durer, Caravaggio and other masters. I worked as a graphic designer during the mid 80's before a 15 year occupation in the sign making industry led me to a career in murals and other fine art. I’m currently finding success as a decorative artist, creating murals, plaster effects, faux bois, trompe l'oeil and marble(ing) for homes and businesses. Recently, I have added some of these techniques into my personal works on plaster (frescoes). www.johnwaxart.com
