About Me: Yep, I was that guy. The one in class all ways getting busted for drawing cartoons of the teacher. I did learn at an early age that you could make money doing it, when I was commissioned two pennies and a half roll of Lifesavers to paint Woody Woodpecker. And so started my career. I was born a San Diego Navy Brat and bounced from town to town and place to place, and just scraped by in school. I had no desire to go to Art School but did stumble into some figure drawing classes at Bakersfield Community College. I picked a few brains, sketched some interesting people, and learned a great deal from my instructor. But did'nt pursue formal knowledge any further. I kept running into people that needed artwork done and I allways just said yes, whether I knew what the fluck I was doing or not. People would ask "Did you do that Freehand?" and I would allways reply, "NO! I charge for everything!!" My Father and I lived on that premis and painted murals and signs for about 8 years. In 1998 I was fortunate enough to get hired/intern at an apparel screenprinting house called Ethan Wade Graphics where I met my new friend and mentor Chris Hall (you know him as Chall on the Bistro). They needed someone to draw cartoons and do some illustrations, and would train me in computer skills. They could only pay the intern $6.50 an hour and give 20 hours a week. Shit Monkey, I was in! The experience and education I received while there is priceless to me, not to mention the incredible friendship with Chris. Don't get me wrong, he was a hard ass to work for, (He had a red felt pen that he would use to "Compliment" my work). OUCH!! I do regret not going to art school, but would'nt change my path for anything. I would'nt be were I am today without his patience and direction. Thanks alot, I live in a van down by the river!
