About Me
I grew up in Chicago, and was fortunate to be able to go to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After I graduated, I moved to Colorado to find more open spaces and to be closer to nature. I have been a teacher for 22 years, but sadly have not been able to find a job teaching art since I moved back to Colorado from Maine. (I lived on the east coast for 2 years and loved every minute of it.) I have been writing a book for the past 3 years about my life as an artist, with a science fiction twist added. I want to get across to the general public how hard it is to be an artist with a sensitive heart and soul. Most people do not understand the price that artists pay for their creativity. They somehow think that it all comes easy, and do not know how hard it is to be 'sensitive' in these harsh times. I enjoy doing realistic landscapes, but there is nothing like the freedom of the spontaneity of doing abstract art. My heart and soul pour through my abstract work, and I find that the deep meanings and symbols are more profound than what I could have planned ahead of time. I try to describe places I experience in my dreams, and places that are outside of this human reality. My artwork must be emotionally charged, otherwise it is flat and without meaning. I have recently become a certified master web designer and have created my own website: www.tracerproductions.com I also own www.tracerproductions.us, and with this website I want to help promote other artists. I hope to get this website going sometime by the beginning of next year. I am willing to create websites for other artists for very cheap, so that I can add to my website portfolio. I have an artist/teacher friend that has a bumper sticker that reads, “Support the Living Artists.” That says it all.
