About Me
Growing up in the most diverse city in the nation, I've gotten a chance to see and experience a variety of cultures and lifestyles, and as a result I have developed an open, receptive mindset. Part of this diverse community is my family, and along with a great group of friends, they've made valuable contributions to the dynamic masterpiece that is me. I've attended fantastic schools, and though lacking an official degree, I have well put forth the effort, and I have earned a degree in life. While going to school to supplement my education, both financially and figuratively, I have also been working. My working experiences have given me a broad range of skills, and have taught me the importance of teamwork and the power in synergy. When individuals work together, the powerful force of that combined effort is immeasurable, but the impact is undeniable. This idea is evident in my photography work. My photographs tend to be of the (literally) smaller world that is often overlooked, but nonetheless important. My tiny subjects embody the fact that many make up the whole, and all it takes is a change in one of them for the entire community to collapse. This concept is the foundation of ecology, but it is not limited to biological applications; it's pertinent to the entire world. I'm also an active supporter of environmental protection and I enjoy sharing my passion for the environment with others. I try to emphasize to others that their actions do make a difference. Ideas like renewable energy, sustainable building, and natural living are crucial to the environment, but if you look closely there's a greater underlying message here: teamwork. There is an infinite amount of knowledge and understanding available to us in every aspect our lives, by thinking critically, and reflecting on our experiences. So whether I'm swimming the crystal waters of Hawaii, enjoying the fine wines of the Napa Valley, hiking the backcountry in Yosemite, or exploring the streets of London, I am always watchful and eagerly anticipating that next chance to learn from this amazing world of ours.
