About Me
I think the “about me” page refers to as describing myself as an artist right? Well let me tell you I am a Latino person, I was born in El Salvador which in terms of art was hard but also good. Art wasn’t as good as it is now, at least they try (laugh). I lived there till I was 18, in those days I found my style out of watching anime on the T.V. and buying posters. Of course I wasn’t good enough, my mom wanted me to draw apples and bananas, but I never was interested in. I came to the USA when I was around 18 and 4 months, I came to San Francisco, California where I found art very interested. Again I was more into the comic books (American and Asian) style, and people was always telling me “that is not art”. I always asked them, how do you know what is art and what is not then? They tried to find the response but they never could, so I think everything that drawn, design, created, made of is art , no matter what you do. I have taken several art classes at school as portrait and life drawing, design and figures, but those things are just complementary to my style. I do pin up for the most part. In the last few weeks I’ve started using markers, colored pencils and paints, but I am more good with pencils only. Few days a go I started using a soft ware I bought a year ago (ArtRage) and I’ve been using my Bamboo Wacom tablet to do mostly abstracts on my computer. I am more in the traditional tools than soft wares, but as I always say “don’t limit yourself”. You can also visit my website www.henry-carreno-prints.com
