Personal

About Me: i still consider myself to be a relatively new "artist"-- in fact, it still doesn't feel right to describe myself in such terms. i certainly always felt i had a creative streak within me, but i didn't necessarily have a distinct outlet for it. ::: i graduated from a very small high school, where i filled several of the generic teen stereotypes: within my 8-person graduating class, i was the braniac valedictorian, the spirited cheerleader, and the weird kid who'd wear striped knee-socks and converse with her skirts. the only creative opportunity was yearbook, where my opinions were consistently outvoted, so i ended up defined as the smart kid rather than the artsy kid. ::: after graduation i decided i wanted to enter a creative field, though i didn't really have much to go on. after a couple art classes in college--my first since elementary school--i felt graphic design was the way to go. it seemed to be a good hybrid of my abilities; though certainly an artistic field, the problem-solving element is perfect for the academic in me that refuses to let go. ::: this far into my college career, i'm finally beginning to feel like i actually belong in the art department--but certainly not completely. i still doubt my own skill, and i still get thoroughly intimidated & insecure when forced to compare myself with other students. i'm of the opinion that, when i finally get myself to the point that i can think creatively as well as i can think rationally, i'll totally be able to rock this. :)
Hobbies:: Reading, Eating Out, Family time, Making art, Live Music, Watching Films, Watching TV, Pets, Traveling
Favorite TV Shows:: good reality tv [subjective, i know] & unique dramas like "lost," "heroes," & "eli stone." no crime dramas; there's too many & they're all the same.
Favorite Music:: i really appreciate music that challenges me to think, that actually has some depth do it. specifically: switchfoot [along with jon foreman solo work] & the beatles [their solo works as well]. for a good overview, check the playlist.^^
