First and foremost let me introduce myself --my name is Angelchristine Nalagon, however, I do go by Angel. I was born in the Philippines and raised in California for the first half of my life and being that my dad was in the military I had no choice but, to move up to Washington and this is where I’ve been for most of my life. I have always had a passion for things that are aesthetic. I first fell in love with art in the first grade, where I had an Art teacher who showed us how to create pottery out of clay, since then I could not stop loving Art and anything that had to do with it. I have had a hobby in calligraphy, however, my main interest is in illustration, second is in photography. I personally enjoy creating things from my own ideas. My brain thinks critically and I like to think of myself as being innovative there is always a new idea to be expressed, created and/or introduced. In my profile you are going preview a couple of pieces that I have done so far while attending Highline Community College, enrolled in the Visual Communications Program; I have learned many different aspects of the design industry, however, I am in my sophomore year, I yearn to learn more. Accomplishments that I have achieved so far has been receiving a certificate for event coordinating, which I was able to host a “National Eating Disorder Week” event during a health fair, as well as host “Expanding Your Horizons” helping young teenage girls learn more about college expectations. I also hosted a “Women’s Celebration” awarding several women from campus with a “Woman in Action” award for their hard work as well as help plan and host “the Annual Portfolio show” for 2009. At the moment I am on a committee publishing the 2009 “Arcturus” magazine, which is a collective documentary of student submissions of short stories, poems, pictures and art work; It is due to come out the following Fall quarter. I soon will be starting an internship in the publications office in the Outreach Center at Highline and will be working on some up coming projects I have yet to learn about. I have so much to still learn about in the design industry and hope one day to become very successful and recognized for my work. I wish to build an entity for myself and become real famous and travel the world I have several goals to attain in order to reach that level of expertise.
