About Me
The Arts, especially Theater Arts, helped me survive the nightmares of learning disabilities as a child. After college, I worked in different schools that have Special Education programs and established a theater group for young people. Getting involved in challenging and inspiring projects at a Nursing Home for the Elderly and Orphanages is also a priority in my present work.

Painting came late in my life, and it was after a tragic physical breakdown that tied me to bed for the next six years. After a few months studying the extraordinary works of Claude Monet and Fernando Amorsolo, I learned how to play with colors. Right after that, I found myself forgetting the illness and studying oil painting at the College of Sainte-Benilde in Manila. The Dean at the College of Arts and Letters at PNU discovered my work and invited me to put up my first one-man show at the university gallery. From 1995 to 1999 I was displaying and selling my work.

Right now I'm working on different projects: a collection of large sized paintings which I hope to exhibit outside my country next year; a new libretto for a musical, and a book about ancient witchcraft in the Philippines.

Vibrant colors have always fascinated me, and the black and white photos of the 20the century intrigued me so much. My work pertains to that only and I don't want to delve into a more profound discussion of beauty or poverty. For me, I just want to express my passion for everything old, and I express it with oil pastel colors.
