Personal

About Me: My art is a direct reflection of my cultural background. I've spent most of my life in Southern Texas and have worked in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio. Being the son of a Mexican immigrant I have recently moved back to the border near Northern Mexico absorbing the rich and colorful surroundings. I have a BFA in Fine Art from the University of Texas at Brownsville and enjoy painting and ceramic art, but sculpting and welding seem to be my newest passions. I find myself experimenting with many different ideas, anywhere from the monarch butterfly migration to border issues such as the building of the wall separating us from our friends in Mexico. When I'm not creating art or updating my website (christiansenfineart.com), I'm playing with my son 6 and daughter 4 who are my true passions. My most recent works have been the unveiling of a mosaic statue of Tlaloc the rain god at Truan Sculpture Garden in Brownsville Tx. and an exhibit of part of my monarch migration series at D'Arte Center in Harlingen Tx.

Favorite Music:: New stuff like Korn,Velvet Revolver,Deftones,White Stripes. Otherside loves Radiohead,Incubus. Old me loves Kiss,DEVO,Adam & the Ants,AC/DC. I miss Alice in Chains,Soundgarden,Rage Against the Machine, and NIRVANA.

FYI - Flashing, Sparkly, Glittery, Moving “Blingees” slow down your page and make it hard to navigate. Many times it is very difficult to view your work - because of the Blingees. Graphics like the one above are very low resolution and don’t slow down your page - they just provide beautiful artwork.....:-}
