Don't Let Those Creative Juices Freeze Up!

Even with Chicago’s coldest winter yet: negative degrees, strong winds smacking your pretty face, layers upon layers of clothing that is oh so time consuming in the morning, I’m making sure my creative juices aren’t going to freeze up like the rest of the city is, an “arctic tundra” as what my photography professor referred to it as. Throughout the winter break, it was ART NON-STOP for me.

I also worked on three book covers I started in my Digital Illustration class last quarter for The Great Gatsby. I’m still doing some revisions and taking in feedbacks from fellow classmates/artists, but I plan on submitting it into ADC88: 88TH Annual Call for Entries (www.adcawards.org) as a series for the category Illustrations>Book Jackets. I have been doing a lot of outside school-work so that I could build up my portfolio and network, and of course fulfill one of my own new year’s resolutions-

I had been practicing on designing websites (my own – here you can find updated news). I’ve started my second quarter at Ai this past week and it has been quite overwhelming already. I am taking Digital Photography for Designers, Form and Space & Type and Image. All three courses took me by surprise, it’s like stepping away from the computer art for awhile and learning about other approaches to designing.
