Alexander Lome

Questions for Alexander Lome:

How did you start out in design?

Like many, I’ve been drawing since I was a wee lad. It wasn’t until high school that I really knew it was what I wanted to do as a career, I’d spend my entire lunch period drawing in my sketchbook. Since then it’s been a rocky climb but I feel as though I’m really close to being where I want to be.

Who is your favorite artist?

That is tough, I like a lot of artists.. Well his work is nothing like mine, but I really like Simon Bisley.. Yeah, is it sad that that’s such a hard question for me? I dunno..

What do you like most about being a designer?

I like that people can look at my work and almost instantly recognize it as mine, if they’ve seen me before. I like that I can explore almost anything creatively and no one (okay, very few people) asks me if I’m out of my mind. And of course, it’s just a lot of fun.

Do you have any advice for fellow artists?

Same thing everyone says, just draw all the time. Procrastinating’s okay just don’t let it get too bad and really, if you’re not having fun drawing then you should probably be doing something else.
