Design Job Fairs: 2009 Listings
Valerie Atkisson / ArtBistro
Attending job fairs is a terrific way to meet potential employers, practice your interviewing skills, and gain an appreciation for what skills and work experience are valued by each employer. Furthermore, representatives you will meet at job fairs will give you personalized feedback on your resume, and will critique your previous work experience.
There are plenty of changes to make a strong impression and to get the attention of the employer you want to work for. Most job fairs will be entirely free, and although they can be somewhat time consuming, they are definitely worth attending.
Many job fairs and career expos also offer seminars on topics such as “How to Excel at a Job Fair”; attend these to ensure that you’re getting the most out of your job search.

The nearest job fair to Yuma, AZ is in Los Angeles which is an 8 hour drive one way. Are there any job fairs coming to Phoenix or San Diego?

I was looking for a job fair closer to northern New England, say Boston. The closest location here is Manchester, Connectictut, which is a rather long drive from New Hampshire. Guess the Internet and local university fairs are the only way to go for people in my part of the country.

With so Many unemployed and so many homeless today how does one reach and potential employer when especially those whom are homeless can't dress for success to shake hands and give them a resume. Is this not wasting American talent just because they do not have the dress for the occasion attire?
