5 Foods to Avoid Before Your Interview

Adam Starr | ArtBistro

Gum Gabbing

Chewing gum during your interview is a bad idea. Gum makes you smell like watermelons and rainbows. Sorry, but as much as you love the flavor of Strawberry Tsunami, it doesn’t scream professionalism. While it is true that gum helps you avoid bad breath, its downfall is that it goes too far in the opposite direction. Yes, there is too much of a good thing.

Even worse than the smell, chomping on your gum throughout the interview is probably more annoying to your hiring manager than most anything else. If you want a quick breath freshener, stick with a basic mint 10 minutes before the interview.
