Step Four: Identify Lacking Skills
Valerie Atkisson/ArtBistro
What Skills Do You Need?
Look at the skills that you have and the skills that you will need to acquire to become the artist that you want to be. These skills may include other subjects than learning a new medium or becoming more adept at figure drawing. You will also need to know about the history and theory associated with fine art.
Broaden Your Skills
You may decide that you need a broad based set of artistic skills rather than a narrow set. You will need have good writing skills no matter what artist you decide to be. Writing proposals, essays, artists statements, and grants will be necessary for your career.

I lack some skills in pastels, oils and paints. They are my weakness and I am working on them as much as I can.
