Created over 2 years ago Description: I am a self taught artist from Gettysburg Pa. I have been Painting seriously now for the last 10 years or so and I have tried my hand at anything from airbrushing to oils,but acrylics are what I like to use best. I use acrylics with a water color technique with the details painted on top of that , scraping gives me alot of texture also and I limit myself to only 2 or 3 colors used on a painting,which gives me the look i want. I love to paint the old stone homes and dwellings in Gettysburg, the area is rich in history,and you never run out of subject matter to paint. My grandfather was a stone mason all his life and that gives me a special admiration for these places.Each one is so unique ,a piece of art in their own way. Every stone had to be hand cut. Alot of these places are vanishing every day ,which is why i choose to paint them before they are completely gone. They look so cold and sad,but once full of life and try and capture that feeling in my paintings. I also paint other subjects as well,portraits,animals still life,there is nothing I wont try.
